This spring was the first time new Oklahoma general manager Jim Nagy was in control for the Sooners during a transfer portal cycle.
The transfer portal briefly opened for the spring on April 16 and closed on April 25. However, players are still out there and able to commit to a new school if they haven't yet.
During the cycle, Nagy and the Sooners have added five players, including three new offensive weapons. After the Sooners' fifth commitment, they had the No. 12 transfer class in the nation, according to 247Sports.

The Sooners sealed a new addition before the transfer cycle even officially began. Offensive lineman Jake Maikkula was able to enter the portal after a coaching change at Stanford, and after a few visits, he ultimately signed with the Sooners the day before the portal opened for everyone.
Maikkula, a 6-foot-5 and 295-pound sophomore, has played every position of the interior offensive line. He started 11 games last season between center and both guard spots.
The Sooners started this cycle with a bang.
Along with Maikkula, OU also signed running back Jaydn Ott the night before the portal opened. He was able to enter early as a graduate transfer from Cal with one year of eligibility left.
Ott was the No. 1 running back available in the portal. An ankle injury hindered him last season, but in 2023, Ott led the Pac-12 with 1,305 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He's also dynamic on special teams as a return man, having more all-purpose yards than anyone else in FBS the last three seasons.
The #Sooners have signed their bell cow back in Cal transfer Jaydn Ott, one of the top RBs in the country. He had an injury-riddled campaign in 2024, but in 2023, he posted:

Last season at Utah State, Lolohea played under Nate Dreiling, who was the Aggies' interim head coach before going to Arkansas State, then eventually to OU as the inside linebackers coach. Lolohea appeared in eight games last year and will be a depth piece for the Sooners.
It was clear the Sooners needed a kicker after the Crimson Combine, so they went and got one.
Tate Sandell was a record-breaking kicker at UTSA. Last season, he made 19 of 23 field-goal attempts and 35 of 36 extra points.
Sandell set two program records with his strong leg. He made a 54-yard field goal against Memphis last season, which was the longest made field goal in UTSA history. He also holds the school record with 62 touchbacks on 85 kickoffs, a record he set twice at UTSA.
The Sooners needed a big-bodied receiver and kept whiffing this spring until finally landing Jer'Michael Carter, who's listed at 6-foot-4 and will be the third-tallest receiver on OU's roster.
Last season, Carter had 37 catches for 537 yards and three touchdowns for McNeese at the FCS level. McNeese had Carter labeled as entering his junior season in 2025, but he appeared in only four games as a freshman in 2023 so could have three years of eligibility left.
