Now that the plethora of preseason top-25 projections for the 2025 college football season are out there and have been debated and disputed to death, the staff at ESPN jumped ahead to season's end and projected what the postseason bowl matchups might look like come December.

ESPN staff writers Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have Oklahoma going two different places in the 2025 postseason and paired with two different bowl opponents. Both, however, did agree that the Sooners would make a bowl appearance for what would be the 26th consecutive season, the second-longest active streak among FBS teams behind only Georgia with 27.

Sooners get two different Tennessee bowl projections from ESPN’s preseason picks

Bonagura projected Oklahoma to land in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee, on Dec. 30 for a showdown against Minnesota out of the Big Ten. Schlabach had the Sooners staying in Tennessee and going to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl to play former Big 12 foe Baylor on Jan. 2.

These projections are being made before a single game in the 2025 season has been played, so we all know that things are certain to change as the season plays out, and Bonagura and Schlabach will adjust these bowl projections as the season progresses.

The two ESPN writers also offered their projections for the top four College Football Playoff seeds. Bonagura had Texas as his No. 1 seed with No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Clemson. Schlabach's top-4 seeds were No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Penn State and No. 4 Georgia.

In the CFP championship game, Bonagura had a 1-2 matchup with Texas facing Penn State. Schlabach also had the top two seeds squaring off, but with Clemson as Texas' opponent.
