Saturday was a day LSU wide receiver Barion Brown doesn’t want to remember, but Oklahoma cornerback Courtland Guillory wouldn’t let him forget.
Before the No. 8 Sooners beat LSU 17-13 on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff, Brown spent part of his pregame warmup tearing up the grass on Owen Field, but maybe he was just taking out his frustration because he knew what was about to unfold on that playing surface.
LSU's Barion Brown shut down after viral moment
A viral video caught Brown using his cleats desecrating the painted grass of the end zone inside Memorial Stadium. At one point, he even kicked his feet with each step to destroy the sod.

Brown, a senior, went on to catch three passes for only nine yards in the loss with the freshman Guillory in coverage most of the game. It was a season-low yardage total for Brown and the first time this season he didn’t reach double-digit receiving yards.
After the game and celebration, Guillory saw the viral video of what Brown did to Guillory’s home field and immediately reminded Brown of how the game went after the viral moment.
Guillory on his Instagram story shared the video with the comment, “9 yards btw (by the way)” while tagging Brown in the post.

Guillory has emerged as one of the Sooners’ top defenders, especially in the secondary, this season even as a freshman. He has 39 tackles and six pass breakups while starting nine of 12 games during the regular season. Guillory signed with the Sooners as a four-star recruit from the 2025 class less than a year ago.
