Oklahoma and Missouri might dislike each other, but no hate seemed sronger on Saturday than all college football fans' disdain for both teams' uniforms.
The No. 8 Sooners and No. 22 Tigers both wore alternate uniform combos in their matchup Saturday morning at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. OU announced earlier in the week that it would wear its charcoal gray "UNITY" uniforms for military appreciation, which many OU fans were immediately unhappy about. Missouri then on Saturday morning posted it would wear white helmets with a gold block M.

As soon as both teams got on the field together, those at Memorial Stadium immediately realized the uniforms weren't a pretty sight together. The top-25 matchup of old Big 12 foes with College Football Playoff implications for OU is also the must-see game of the week, so as college football fans flipped on the game on Saturday morning, they also went to social media to point out the ugly uniform matchup.
Just a bad uniform matchup between Missouri and Oklahoma. pic.twitter.com/LHKt5Ey9Ba

This is an abysmal uniform matchup in Norman today, IMO.

Needed to have a bit better game day coordination.

These uniforms do not look good together, at all. Missouri looks like Kent State. pic.twitter.com/JV57ysLrRY
Mizzou and Oklahoma play for just the second time in 15 years and they have the worst uniform match-up I've probably seen this season. Mizzou looks like the inside of a McDonald's fries container. OU for some reason insisting on wearing Pompeii Ash gray.

Missouri has decided to cosplay as Wyoming today for some reason. #BoomerSooner #MuckFizzou pic.twitter.com/RPPqQ9aWkc

OU fans were especially disappointed with the Sooners' uniform decision to get away from the classic crimson and cream. Fans can at least be happy to know, though, that the Sooners enter Saturday 3-0 in their "UNITY" uniforms. It didn't look like that trend would continue early on, though.
My Oklahoma Sooners are 3-0 in the "Unity" uniforms they're wearing against Missouri today - first debuted in 2022. But I've never liked the look of crimson numbers on "anthracite grey." Just looks drab, without the usual Sooners mystique. That's the way OU is playing so far.

Disgusting uniform decision by OU today.

You are Oklahoma, act like it. https://t.co/0avBfp1auc
These OU uniforms are hellacious. Get the concept but they’re a broadcaster’s worst nightmare.

I’ll say it again as i do every year, I HATE OU’s unity alternate uniform ! OU had no need to get gimmicky a couple of years ago ! Blue Blood schools don’t need to fall into this trap of needing uniform combinations to attract recruits. Move along if you don’t wanna come.
