Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh couldn't have found a better addition for the Sooners from the 2025 recruiting class.

247Sports on Wednesday released its final rankings for the 2025 recruiting class, and OU signee Michael Fasusi moved up as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the country after the update. And this was the most impressive year to be at the top, with a record nine offensive linemen earning five stars in the class, including Fasusi.

With the move, Fasusi is also the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2025 class, regardless of position. He was No. 13 in the last set of rankings.

Fasusi was the headliner of the Sooners' 2025 signing class on Early National Signing Day in December, even before the recent upgrade. He's the only five-star recruit in the 18-player signing class.

Since signing, Fasusi's hype has only increased after strong performances at a few all-star games, including the Under Armour All-American Game, where he was named MVP of the event, and the Polynesian Bowl.

Getting to Norman already at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds with his talent, it's looking more and more like Fasusi could crack the starting lineup Day 1 at one of the offensive line spots. The Sooners ended this past season with two freshmen starting on the left side of the offensive line.

Fasusi isn't the only incoming offensive lineman who could make an immediate impact for the Sooners, either. OU also signed four-star offensive tackle Ryan Fodje, three-star interior lineman Darius Afalava and three-star interior lineman Owen Hollenbeck.

OU coach Brent Venables said during his Early National Signing Day press conference that he expects the offensive linemen from the 2025 class to play "right away."

"That group overall, just powerful, athletic, incredibly physical, incredibly physically tough," Venables said then. "And this is a mature group of guys that really believe they're going to be able to come into a really good young group of offensive linemen and going to make an impact, going to make us better. No developmental, quote on quote, type of guys in that group.

"This is a group of guys that really can line up and play football for us right away once they understand the language and those type of things."

The Sooners were desperate for immediate help on the offensive line after an abysmal season on offense, largely because of poor play up front.

For reinforcements, OU not only added a strong freshman class, but also got experience from the transfer portal with Luke Baklenko (Stanford) and Derek Simmons (Western Carolina), who will both benefit the offensive line right away.
