Tight end Bauer Sharp is leaving Oklahoma but not the SEC.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported on Friday that Sharp has committed to LSU for his final year of eligibility. He spent only one season at Oklahoma.

Sharp led the Sooners in receiving during his only season in Norman. He had 42 catches and 324 receiving yards this season, both of which were team highs. He also caught two touchdowns.

Sharp became a consistent target for quarterbacks Jackson Arnold and Michael Hawkins Jr. while the wide receivers were decimated with injuries throughout the season.

Ironically, Sharp's final game as a Sooner was against LSU at Tiger Stadium, his new home. He had one 4-yard catch and also had a boneheaded mistake during a trick play that ended with Sharp throwing an interception.

Before getting to OU, Sharp spent two seasons at Southeastern Louisiana. He originally got to Southeastern Louisiana as a quarterback before switching positions before his second season in 2022.

Joining Sharp in the transfer portal was six OU receivers, including Brenen Thompson, Andrel Anthony, Jaquaize Pettaway, Nic Anderson, Jalil Farooq and J.J. Hester. None of them have announced their next destinations yet.

The Sooners still have tight ends Jake Roberts, Kade McIntyre, Davon Mitchell, Hampton Fay and Kaden Helms on the roster and available for the Armed Forces Bowl against Navy on Friday, Dec. 27. All of them but Roberts, who is out of eligibility, is expected to return next year.
