5 portal receivers Oklahoma can still pursue after an exodus at the position

Who can the Sooners still get at wide receiver?

The Oklahoma Sooners have already landed two solid wide receivers out of the Transfer Portal cycle, but after also losing eight to the portal from the position so far, that math doesn't add up. Even with just over a week left before the portal closes and many decisions already being made, there's still receiver talent out there for OU general manager Jim Nagy can bring to Norman.

Cole Adams was also previously listed as an Oklahoman that Nagy should pursue after Adams initially chose Bama over the Sooners out of Owasso High School. Adams, listed at 5-foot-10, wouldn't make a massive splash, but he would definitely be solid depth, and he's from the 2023 class that OU has lost all scholarship receivers from already. He had five receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown, plus 19 punt returns for 156 yards and a kickoff return for 20 yards this season as a redshirt sophomore.

Just like everyone else in 2023, the Sooners were also after the five-star Johntay Cook II out of DeSoto, Texas, before he went to Texas, then transferred to Washington, and then to Syracuse. Back on the market again, Cook might look to finally be closer to home, which could be leverage for the Sooners. Cook caught 45 passes for 549 yards and two TDs this season, which all at least tied career highs.

Davion Dozier has been linked to the Sooners since the start of this cycle. However, some believe he was a Plan B if the Sooners didn't land Parker Livingstone, and after posting on Wednesday he was going to visit Oklahoma, Dozier removed that post. Regardless, even with Livingstone, OU still needs more help at the position and Dozier seems eager to be a Sooner, especially having a connection with Isaiah Sategna III as former Arkansas teammates. This season, Dozier, listed at 6-foot-4, tallied 448 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

The Sooners initially wanted Dre'lon Miller when he was a four-star recruit coming out of Silsbee High School in Texas in 2024, and now he's available again as the Sooners don't have any scholarship receivers left from that class. As a transfer, 247Sports has Miller, listed at 6-foot-1, as the No. 40 receiver in the portal after also playing running back and wildcat quarterback for Colorado. This season as a sophomore, he posted 292 total yards and two scores. Miller could not only help at receiver, but also bring another wrinkle to Ben Arbuckle's offense.

Tre Richardson would be another big buy for the Sooners, but if they can still afford him, Saturday Blitz has Richardson ranked as the No. 20 receiver in the portal, right below OU's other two additions at the position. The Sooners would also have to catch up to programs like Louisville that are already in with Richardson.

This season, after jumping from the junior-college ranks, Richardson led Vanderbilt with 806 receiving yards and seven TDs on 46 receptions.
