The defense has taken center stage in recent Oklahoma football wins, but on Friday it was the offense that stole the show with nine touchdowns and 602 total yards.

Interestingly, it was not the Sooners most prolific offensive performance this season. Two other times OU produced more yards of offense: 644 yards a couple of weeks ago against West Virginia and 642 in the season-opening win over Arkansas State.

The Sooners scored on 10 of their 13 possessions. Eight possessions ended in a touchdown, one with a field goal and OU’s final score came on a 43-yard interception return by Billy Bowman. The Sooners punted just one time in the game.

Here are some other notable numbers that help tell the story of OU’s 10th 2023 win:

5 Billy Bowman Jr. intercepted his fifth pass of the season and the second in as many games that were returned for a touchdown. His five interceptions are tied for second most in the country.

12 — Career-tying 12 receptions by Drake Stoops for 125 yards and a touchdown in his final game at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

26 — Oklahoma football seniors honored on Senior Day.

50 — Oklahoma scored 50 or more points in four of its six home games this season.

55 — Total number of first downs in the game — 30 by Oklahoma, 25 by TCU.

152 — Touchdowns accounted for by Dillon Gabriel in his five-year college career, fourth most in FBS history.

1,127 — Combined yards of total offense in the game — 602 by Oklahoma and 527 by TCU.
