10. Freshman safety Peyton Bowen

Peyton Bowen came to Oklahoma as a five-star defensive recruit with high expectations and he has lived up to all the hype and been a solid contributor and an impact player in his very first season. In his first six games as a collegian, Bown has 23 tackles, four pass breakups, two blocked punts and a critical forced fumble of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers in the Sooners 34-30 victory over the Longhorns.

This week, Bowen was named a midseason freshman All-American by the recruiting service On3.
