2. Redshirt senior quarterback Dillon Gabriel

Dillon Gabriel is in his second season as the Oklahoma starting quarterback and is the face of the Sooners. He is not a vocal leader, but every Sooner player knows that this is his team.

Gabriel lets his performance do the talking. He leads the Big 12 and is sixth among FBS teams with 1,848 passing yards. He ranks third nationally in touchdown passes (16) and points per game responsible for (21), fourth in total offense (347.7), seventh in passing efficiency (178.23) and 13th in completion percentage (72.3).

This is Gabriel’s fifth collegiate season. He spent three seasons at UCF before transferring to OU in 2022. After last week’s performance against Texas, 285 yards passing, 113 rushing and two touchdown passes with no interceptions, the Sooner quarterback has entered the picture as a 2023 Heisman candidate.
