For all intents and purposes, the 2024 Oklahoma football recruiting class is nearly complete, at least in terms of verbal commitments, but there are still several top targets the Sooners would like to add before the window closes.

The Sooners’ 2024 class currently consists of 24 commitment and breaks down into 14 offensive players and 10 defensive prospects. The class as it currently stands ranks as a top-10 national class in three of the major recruiting services — Rivals (6), 247Sports (7) and ESPN (8) — and No. 11 in a fourth, On3.

Hopefully all 24 will sign letters of intent during the early signing period in December. In the meantime, Brent Venables and the Sooner coaches are working hard to land several more top prospects to fill out the 2024 class.

Among those uncommitted prospects the Sooners are still high on is offensive tackle Grant Brix out of Logan, Iowa. The four-star prospect is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Iowa and the No. 4 offensive tackle nationally. OU will lose a couple of starting O-linemen after this season, so Brix could be a valuable addition to coach Bill Bedenbaugh’s offensive line room.

The Sooners are also extremely high on another interior offensive lineman in Eddy Pierre-Louis from Tampa, Florida, but they’re probably going to have to beat out in-state UCF and several other schools to land his services. Pierre-Louis is a four-star prospect, the No. 14 interior O-lineman in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports Composite, and the No. 240 overall player nationally.

Michael Boganowski is a linebacker from Junction City, Kansas. In addition to OU, Kansas State, which is only 20 miles from the K-State campus, and Kansas are naturally interested in the four-star prospect. Boganowski is ranked 37th among the linebackers in the class and the No. 1 player in the state of Kansas by 247Sports.

While the 2024 class is the immediate priority, Oklahoma also is looking at outlying years in its recruiting effort. The Sooners already have five commitments in their 2025 class and this week gained a commitment for 2026 from a 6-foot, 1-inch, 203-pound running back, Jonathan Hatton Jr., from Cibolo, Texas, in the San Antonio area. Hatton is rated as the No. 5 running back and No. 66 player nationally by 247Sports.
