DE Rondell Bothroyd

Rondell Bothroyd is a transfer from Wake Forest, and he is expected to have an immediate impact on an OU defensive line that was credited with just 13 sacks last season, 10th out of 10 Big 12 teams. The Sooners inability to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks and create disruption was a big reason OU allowed 32 points a game and struggled to get off the on defense. Bothroyd is entering his sixth season of college ball and was one of the best edge rushers available in the portal. His skills and experience should provide an immediate impact at the defensive end position.

In five seasons at Wake Forest, Bothroyd totaled 136 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks.

Bothroyd has set a high bar for himself and his teammates this year — I’ve come here to win championships, he says — and he intends to lead the way.
