Oklahoma football preseason training camp kicked off last week, marking the unofficial opening of the 2023 college football season for the Sooners and most of the other major college teams.

It’s the time of the season when every team starts out with high expectations and a perfect record as anticipation builds for fans and the players alike for a brand new season.

For Oklahoma, it’s an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and show that the disappointing 6-7 2022 season was an aberration and an unacceptable outcome for a program with a long history of sustained high-level success.

Coming off a highly disappointing 2022 season, there were all kinds of offseason questions as head coach Brent Venables heads into his second season at the helm.

Three weekends from this one, the Sooners will open the season at home hosting Arkansas State at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
