Nine Oklahoma softball players from the Sooners’ 2023 national championship team have been named to D1 Softball’s Top 100 for the just completed college season.

Oklahoma, which finished the 2023 season with a national championship three-peat and a record setting 61-1 record, has captured a host of team and individual national honors since the season ended with the conclusion of the Women’s College World Series on June 15. The D1 Softball Top 100 is the latest accolade.

All nine Sooner honorees finished in the top 50, reflecting the quality of the talent on this season’s Oklahoma championship team.

The Sooner honorees include six members of the starting lineup and three pitchers. Junior center-fielder Jayda Coleman was the highest-ranked Sooner at No. 3. She is joined in the top 10 by junior second baseman Tiare Jennings (No. 6) and sophomore starting pitcher Jordy Bahl (No. 8). Bahl entered the transfer portal after the season ended, announcing that she wanted to be closer to home. The Nebraska native will finish out her collegiate career in her home state at the University of Nebraska.

Sophomore third baseman Alyssa Brito is No. 18 in the top 100, followed pitcher Alex Storako (No. 22), the USA Softball 2023 NCAA Transfer Player of the Year. Storako transferred to Oklahoma from Michigan for her final year of eligibility.

Super senior utility player Haley Lee, a 2022 transfer from Texas A&M, is No. 22, junior pitcher Nicole May is No, 26 and senior catcher Kinzie Hansen is No. 40 and fifth-year senior shortstop and team captain Grace Lyons rounds out the OU players in the top 100 at No. 44.

Five of the nine Sooner players will return in 2024.
