Pat Summitt – Tennessee Women’s Basketball
Pat Summitt is legendary in college sports, not just women’s basketball. During her incredible career at the University of Tennessee, Summitt won 1,098 games, a record at her time of retirement. She led the Lady Volunteers from 1974-2012, taking her team to a mind-boggling 18 Final Fours. She collected 5 Naismith Coach of the Year awards and 8 National Championships.
Her most remarkable stat is yet to come. During her 38 years as the head coach of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, she never missed an NCAA Tournament!
Coach Summitt was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999 as a member of its first-ever class.
