Chris Murray hears his name called at the 169th pick (Round 5 – Pick 34 – compensatory pick) to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys are in a slow rebuild of their offensive line. Aging legend Zack Martin is within three years of seeing his career end in retirement. The Cowboys need a versatile lineman like Murray to come in and soak up knowledge for a couple of seasons. Murray may transition to left guard or even center in the NFL. Either way, after a few seasons of learning from the future Hall of Fame guard Martin, Murray is set to secure a starting position on the offensive line for several years.
