Tight end recruiting update

There’s only one tight-end recruit to be featured in this update… and that’s all the Sooners need. Composite all-world 5-star tight end Davon Mitchell has the Sooners feeling good about the 2024 recruiting class all by himself. The tight end is listed as a 2025 recruit; however, he is fully expected to reclassify to the 2024 class. A close friend of fellow Sooner recruit, and 2024 QB commits Michael Hawkins, Mitchell will hopefully formally end his recruitment by committing to the Sooners soon. Mitchell brings a much-needed position to fill to the Sooners’ offense. The Sooners will be losing tight end Austin Stogner following the conclusion of the 2023 season, and Mitchell should come in and pick up where Stogner left off. This man is college ready right now, and if the Sooners land his commitment, look for their class ranking to soar.
