In the Red River Showdown of 2000, the Sooners easily cruised to 63-14 victory. The matchup against Texas was the nation’s introduction to the 2000 Sooner football program and the beginning of a three game stretch, all of which OU was picked as the underdog, that included Texas, Kansas State, and Nebraska.

Rocky’s 41-yard pick six had little impact on the overall outcome of the game but it gave birth to a ‘folk-hero’ sort of player in Rocky, and a dominating stamp on the Texas Longhorns. The first thing most Sooner fans think of when they see this image isn’t the touchdown scored at the end. Instead most Sooner fans see this image and say “And he did it with a broken hand!”. Rocky was a tough, blue-collar, dominating linebacker who played the game with an above average level of passion.

If this play ranks number five, just wait until you see number four.
