That’s Coach Murray to you! Demarco came to Norman from the prestigious Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas. As a recruit, he was a composite 5-star running back and high school All-American, according to 247Sports.

Demarco’s dominance in Norman began from the jump. He is the school’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards (6,718 all-purpose yards, 3,685 rushing, 1,571 receiving, and 1,462 return yards) AND touchdowns (65). Demarco is also OU’s all-time leader in kickoff return average with a 27.6 average (all records according to SoonerSports.com). Demarco

He finished his career in Norman with two first-team All-Big 12 selections and one second-team All-Big 12 selection. The Dallas Cowboys got the steal of the 2011 NFL Draft by selecting Demarco in the third round. While in the NFL, he rushed for 7,174 yards and 49 touchdowns and caught 307 passes for 2,165 yards and six touchdowns.

Demarco was selected to three Pro Bowls, and in 2014 he was named a first-team All-Pro due to his NFL-leading 1,845 yards. He is arguably the most dynamic playmaker in Sooner football history, and now, he’s back. Demarco is the current running backs coach in Norman, and he is quickly being regarded as one of the nation’s best recruiters. Demarco has put together quite the resume for a 33-year-old coach. It would be easy to see him getting a bigger office one day in Norman — a lot bigger.
