Oklahoma basketball: What fans need to know about Oklahoma at Baylor
By Chip Rouse
Men’s Oklahoma basketball continues its two-game road swing with a game at No. 14 Baylor Wednesday night.
The Sooners (12-11, 2-8) are coming off two bad losses and are looking to snap a five-game Big 12 losing streak. After a dominating 93-69 win over then-No. 2 Alabama, Oklahoma has followed that with a 71-61 home loss to Oklahoma State, and this past Saturday the Sooners were absolutely blown out of the gym in a 93-61 defeat at West Virginia.
In its last five losses, Oklahoma has been outscored 377-290. That’s an average score of 75.4 to 58.0. This coming after the Sooners three losses in their first five games were by a combined eight points.
The OU men have fallen into a horrible funk of late and are in real danger of dropping to the bottom of the Big 12 standings with seven of their final eight regular-season games against teams ranked in the top 25.
Wednesday night’s matchup with Baylor (17-6, 6-4) will be the 70th in the series.
All but 14 of the games have been since Baylor joined the Big 12 in 1996. Oklahoma leads the overall series 46-24, but the Sooners are just 19-12 in games at Waco and have not won there since 2016. Baylor won the first game this season 62-60 in Norman.
