It was good offense vs. good defense when the women’s Oklahoma basketball team faced the Lady Rebels of Ole Miss on Sunday at the Lloyd Noble Center, and offense prevailed in a 69-59 OU victory.

Four Sooners scored in double figures as Oklahoma, ranked 23rd in the latest Coaches Poll, improved to 7-1 on the season with its fourth consecutive win.

OU entered the fourth quarter leading by three, 54-51, but Ole Miss scored the first six points in the final stanza to go in front 57-54. The Sooners responded with a 15-0 run over the next 4:59 to pull away for the win. OU held Ole Miss to just four field goals and eight total points in the final quarter.

Nevaeh Tot led the Sooners with 13 points. Ana Llanusa and Madi Williams scored 12 and 10, respectively, and Skylar Vann added 11 off the bench.

Mississippi’s Angel Baker led all scorers with a game-high 22 points.

Ole Miss ranks ninth in the nation, holding opponents to 49.6 points a game. The Sooners’ 69 points is the most the 7-2 Lady Rebels have allowed all season.

This was Oklahoma’s third win of the season over a team that made the NCAA Tournament last season.

Three points that help tell the story of the game:

  • Oklahoma dominated the backboards, outrebounding Ole Miss 48 to 34. Ole Miss came into the game ranked No. 5 in the country in offensive rebounds, averaging 18.5 per game. The Lady Rebels pulled down just 11 offensive boards against OU.
  • The Lady Sooners scored 17 points off of 19 Ole Miss turnovers
  • OU ranks sixth in the country in scoring, averaging 89.9 points a game. The Sooners’ 69 points was 20 below their season average, but also 20 above what Ole Miss is holding opponents to this season.
