Potential 2022 season outcome

This set of outcomes would give Oklahoma a 3-2 finish in its final five regular-season games and a 7-5 record overall (4-5 in the Big 12). If this prognostication were to ring true, the Sooners would end up somewhere between four and six in the Big 12 postseason bowl pecking order.

If the Big 12 champion does not make it into the College Football Playoff and Oklahoma earns bowl eligibility and falls between fourth and sixth among the bowl-eligible conference teams, the Sooners would go to the TaxAct Texas Bowl in Houston (Dec. 28) against a team from the SEC, the Autozone Liberty Bowl in Menphis (Dec. 28), against a team from the SEC, or the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix (Dec. 27).

If a Big 12 team does make it into the College Football Playoff, Oklahoma could also earn a berth in the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando (Dec. 29).
