Oklahoma football played a pretty poor overall game on Saturday against Kansas State, and rightfully that added up to a loss against a very game Wildcat squad. One of the worst parts of the game was some of the presnap movement that killed drives a few happening on 4th down with less than a yard to go.
At the end of the day, the Sooners have no one to blame for their loss but themselves, and credit Kansas State for a game well played on their part. However, were the Sooners kind of being distracted by some of the “new game day atmosphere features”? It sure appeared that way to me, as the PA announcer yelled out “Boomer” multiple times while the offense was at the line of scrimmage, and seems to correlate with a few of the penalties.
Welcome to Move On Monday. Before we collectively move on (because I know this is how the internet works and you'll never dwell on anything) I need to ask who the hell thought this is a bright idea? Turn his mic off. pic.twitter.com/xaBipuC2Ap

Now there is no excuse for the lack of discipline on Oklahoma football’s performance over the weekend, but the idea of hurting your offense by yelling things suddenly during the course of the offense doing their line of scrimmage checks is at the top of the list for “dumbest moments of the weekend”. Seriously whose idea was this? At the end of the day, these athletes have to be able to adapt and watch the ball and make sure they are not false starting. However it’s not just home team etiquette, this same move would have been illegal, and a potential fine for Oklahoma had they done this during the road team’s offense was at the line of scrimmage.
Hopefully, this is a new tradition that will be short-lived, but hey the light show is pretty darn cool, keep that one!
