After a hot July, August does not seem to have any relief from the heat the Oklahoma football staff is cooking up on the recruiting trail.
The Sooners have nabbed four-star WR Anthony Evans from Judson High school in Converse, Texas. Oklahoma won this hotly contested battle with Georgia, who it seemed like was going to get the talented pass catcher up until today.
A few weeks ago before Cale Gundy’s resignation, it seemed like a mere matter of when he would sign with Oklahoma. It must be said this was an incredible feat that took all hands being on deck with L’Damian Washington, Jeff Lebby, and Brent Venables

Who is Anthony Evans?
Anthony Evans is a very talented WR from Judson High School in Converse, Texas. He stands at 5-foot 11 inches and 170 pounds. Evans was used at both RB and WR on offense and certainly made the most of his opportunities. He racked up over 600 scrimmage yards in limited action!
Scouting and impact for Oklahoma
Anthony Evans has one very irreplaceable skill: SPEED. And as we all know speed kills, you can do so much more in an offense when you have a speed demon that your opponent must account for in a coverage. Evans is a track star at Judson and looks to continue to be that on the football field in Norman, Oklahoma. Evans will walk into a WR room that will likely turn over a few players so he could with the right off-season regiment potentially play a role early for Oklahoma. Oklahoma five-star QB commitment Jackson Arnold was in on helping recruit the hot-shot wide out!

I asked Arnold what player he is recruiting hardest right now outside of his own Guyer teammates and Arnold name dropped 2023 four-star WR Anthony Evans saying, “Anthony Evans we want you!” pic.twitter.com/7rT687VfW9
