No. 9 RB Adrian Peterson (2004)

"9. RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma (2004) As good as quarterback Jason White had been in 2003, Oklahoma was held back at times by a merely decent run game. That was not a problem in 2004. Peterson not only stepped into the lineup as a freshman but carried a huge load, rushing 339 times for 1,925 yards and 15 touchdowns as the Sooners charged to 12-1 and a third Big 12 title in five years."

No surprise, AD finds himself in the Top-10 for best freshmen season performances. Peterson was one of the most electrifying Sooners to ever step foot in Norman. In 2004, Jason White was leading the Sooners offense, but the mission was to get No. 28 the ball. He finished with 1,925 yards and 15 touchdowns. Still to this day, AD goes down as one of the best players to never win a Heisman.

Also, Jalen Hurts made the list at No. 11. Hurts played his freshmen season at Alabama, but he finished as a Sooner. Hurts led Alabama to a national championship in the 2016 season. Hurts was the ultimate-dual threat quarterback for the Tide, and he carried that on to Oklahoma in 2019. As a Sooner, he threw for 3,851 yards, along with 32 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,298 yards and 20 touchdowns.
