The Oklahoma football staff has had a furious run on commitments in the month of July, and this week some more fireworks are expected.

Starting off with four-star CB Jasiah Wagoner from Spanaway Washington. Wagoner picked Oklahoma over a host of other schools, including Cal, Oregon, and Texas. Wagoner is a unanimous four-star according to all the recruiting services and picked up at least 16 offers. This is the second Washingtonian that the Sooners have snagged this cycle joining four-star (On3) OT Health Ozaeta.

Who is Jasiah Wagoner?

Jasiah Wagoner is a four-star CB who is listed at 5-foot, 11 inches and 170 pounds, from Spanaway, Washingtoin. He helped lead his team to the Washington 3A state playoffs each of the last two seasons. He was named to the All-American bowl as well.

Scouting and mipact for Oklahoma

You can never have too many quality defensive backs, and Wagoner has everything you would want from a cornerback. He has the speed, and size to play both off, and bump-and-run coverage.

Fluid athlete, tremendous with the ball in his hands as seen as his time playing WR and returning kicks for Spanaway High School. Speedy and physical, verified sub 4.5 speed. Mirrors well, very fluid hips, can hit and help in run defense. Highly coveted coverage skills, and plenty of room to add to his frame. Will likely, need to redshirt before contributing in Norman.

This says a lot about what Brent Venables and defensive backs coach Jay Valai are doing that a player on the West Coast would jump all in for the Sooners without even seeing their new staff put a product on the field. Here is what he had to say:

"“I like Oklahoma. Coach (Brent) Venables is like my favorite coach. I talk to him all the time. They obviously have a great history of being a good program. Coach (Jay) Valai, his mentality and how good he is at technique coaching, he’s done a good job of recruiting me, so it’s obviously one of my favorite schools.”"

Jasiah Wagoner is a heck of a get for the Oklahoma program, and the young man should have a bright future with the Crimson and Cream. The Sooners have the right staff to get the most out of this young man’s physical gifts and talents. For Oklahoma this as the Sooners cleanly in the top 10 of the 247sports composite recruiting rankings.
