No. 7 — Demarco Murray

The all-purpose yards leader at Oklahoma was dangerous in both the running game and passing game. Demarco Murray leads all sooner running backs in rushing touchdowns plus receiving touchdowns with 65 total in his career. During 2006-10, Murray racked up 3,685 rushing yards and 1,571 receiving yards. He was also a lethal weapon in the return game with 1,462 yards and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in 2007.

“The Leap” in 2007, and the “Tip Toe” in 2010 come to mind about Murray’s career at OU. The do-it-all back made his presence known in the 2007 Red River Rivalry game. Murray bolted for a 65-yard touchdown and finished it off with an iconic leap over a Longhorn defender. In 2010, Murray tip-toed his way around the seven-yard line and dove into the end zone to seal a Sooners victory over Texas.

The what-if scenario still comes to mind in the 2008 BCS National Championship. Murray was injured in the Big 12 Championship game, which sidelined him for the BCS championship game loss to the Florida Gators.
