No. 11 — Trevor Knight

Five starts in 2013, 10 Starts in 2014

Trevor Knight was one of the hardest players on this list to rank. He was named the starter to begin the 2013 season, but only lasted two games before being replaced by Blake Bell. After Bell suffered a concussion against Iowa State, Knight came back in and started the next two games against Kansas State and Oklahoma State. He missed the second half of Bedlam due to injury but was healthy in time for the bowl game, where he would be named the starter.

And what a Sugar Bowl game against Alabama it was.

Knight diced up the Crimson tide defense en route to a 45-31 victory in New Orleans. This led to him receiving Heisman hype for the 2014 season, when he would no-doubt be the full-time starter.

The 2014 season starter off on the right foot for the Sooners, but it quickly descended into a tailspin, as OU finished 8-5. Knight didn’t play as well as he had that night in the Superdome, and suffered a brutal injury against Baylor in a 48-14 loss that forced him to miss three games. He was able to come back for the bowl loss against Clemson, a 40-6 beatdown.

Knight lost the starting job in 2015 to a certain walk-on with a headband, and transferred to Texas A&M, where he led a successful 2016 season in College Station. Still, his magical night in NOLA pushes him above some of the other QBs on this list.
