No. 8 — Caleb Williams

Seven starts in 2021

Caleb Williams could have climbed much higher on this list had he decided to stay a Sooner. As it is, he still had an impact while only being the starter for half a season in 2021. Williams was a five-star recruit out of high school who signed with OU as part of the 2021 class.

Williams replaced starter Spencer Rattler midway through the Texas game last season and never looked back. His performance against the Longhorns sparked the team on its way to a massive comeback win, as the true freshman made play after play to guide OU back into the game.

Williams was also spectacular against Kansas in a close victory in Lawrence. He came up short against both Baylor and Oklahoma State, however, leading to the Sooners missing the Big 12 Championship game.

Williams bounced back with a solid performance in the Alamo Bowl win against Oregon, but would follow his head coach Lincoln Riley to USC, where the tandem will be reunited in Southern California. Williams’ football career is just beginning, but the book on his OU career is closed.
