No. 6 — 2016 at Texas Tech, 66-59 Oklahoma win

To be transparent, most Oklahoma fans did not feel this was a great game at the time it was played. Sure, the Sooner faithful were happy to win the ball game, but lowly Texas Tech put up 59 points, led by some guy named Patrick Mahomes. Well, when you fast forward to 2022, you realize who that Patrick Mahomes guy is. Yeah… dude is pretty good. Perhaps the best player in the NFL currently.

Mahomes and Baker Mayfield put on a statistical show full of fireworks the likes of which makes it seem highly unlikely that it will be repeated. The game was so wacky and wild, as they often are in Lubbock, that both teams finished with exactly the same amount of total offensive yards: 854.

Add in the backdrop that Baker Mayfield once was a Red Raiders’ QB, and left them on some not so great terms, leading them to wear a t-shirt emblazoned with the word “Traitor” on the front. Of course, Mayfield managed to get his hands on one, and wore it himself.

Baker Mayfield outdueled Patrick Mahomes.
Baker went 27/36 545 yards 7 TDs and no INTs

Mahomes went 52/88 (no typo) for 734 yards 5 TDs and 1 INT
