Kennedy Brooks RB

Tim’s Projection: 5th round pick

5 feet, 11 inches, 215 pounds

Kennedy Brooks is probably the most volatile player in this draft coming from Oklahoma. He has been mocked by some as early as round three, and as late as a UDFA projection.

The truth of the matter is Brooks is a bit of a unique prospect, which has some scouts high on the young man, while others much lower. He helped himself quite a lot with a solid 4.59 official 40-yard combine time. He is a very good player with high IQ and tremendous vision. He is considered to be the back with the best vision in this class, as he is able to set up blocks well and do his best speed-racer impersonation using angles and vision.

Brooks was highly productive in his three seasons at OU, eclipsing 1,000 yards in each. He will need to work on his pass-blocking skills, but will be at worst a strong No. 2 back in the NFL.  While I could see him going in round three, round five seems like the safe bet. Some teams love him, and others are just not sure because of his upright running style, and him getting caught from behind at times.

OU fans will always appreciate his heroics against the Texas Longhorns this last October.
