Install new offensive scheme that maintains high productivity

Under Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma was one of the most explosive offensive teams in college football. With a new offensive coordinator (Jeff Lebby), you would expect a little different approach and perhaps a different philosophy offensively, but there is no reason to believe the Sooner offense will be dramatically different or less potent than it has been.

At Ole Miss last season, Lebby’s offense led the SEC, averaging 507 yards per game, which ranked fourth nationally among FBS teams. In two seasons at Ol Miss and in 2019 at UCF his offensive units ranked in the top four nationally in total offense and in the top 20 in scoring offense.

With the talent he has at Oklahoma and the offensive history of the Sooners, it’s a pretty good bet Lebby’s offense will be able to move the chains and put points on the scoreboard. The improvement that is expected in the Sooner defense should be enough to offset any fall off on offense.
