‘HOLLYWOOD’ in 2017

“Who is this kid?! Where’d he come from?!” Gus Johnson, FOX broadcaster said. Marquise, “Hollywood” Brown was still learning the ropes throughout the 2017 season, until Bedlam. Brown caught national attention and finished with nine catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns that afternoon in Stillwater. Johnson gave Brown the iconic “Hollywood” nickname (representative of the former OU star’s hometown in Florida), and it’s still being used today. The Sooners exploded for 785 offensive yards and capped off a 62-52 win, which punched their ticket to the 2017 Big 12 Championship and later a No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff.

The list goes on and on with moments we can’t forget in Bedlam. The No. 10-ranked Sooners and the No. 7 Cowboys meet Saturday at 6:30 CT on ABC. It’s a Top-10 showdown in Stillwater with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call. We don’t expect the fireworks we’re used to seeing in Bedlam, but there are still moments we hope to remember in 2021.
