The freshman freight train broke national attention after spinning off a Cowboy defender and darting to the end zone for 80 yards in a 2004 Bedlam game played in Stillwater. “All Day,” as Adrian Peterson was known, finished with 33 carries for 249 yards that day for the Sooners. Although it was a tight, back-and-forth Bedlam, Peterson carried the load for the Sooners to cap off a 38-35 win over the No. 20-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys. Like most games in the past decade, it came down to the fourth quarter. Oklahoma State kicker Jason Ricks had a chance to tie the game with 15 seconds left but came up short. Sam Bradford’s flip in ’08
If there’s one under-the-radar QB battle that we’ll never forget, it’s OU’s Sam Bradford vs. OSU’s Zac Robinson in the 2008 Bedlam game. The two quarterbacks combined for 730 yards of total offense and eight touchdowns. Despite the explosive fireworks that occurred in Stillwater, Bradford’s leap toward the end zone is the one moment OU fans will always remember. Late in the third quarter, Bradford, who went on the win the Heisman that season, scrambled to the right and went airborne. Although Bradford came up short of the goal line, the surprising athletic ability was on full display. The Sooners scored on the next play and ended up winning a 61-41 shootout over the their in-state rivals.
