No. 8 — Junior TE Austin Stogner

Austin Stogner was having a strong 2020 season when he took a hit to his thigh in OU’s seventh game of the season against Kansas. He was forced to leave the game after hauling in three catches for 75 yards and a touchdown and did not return to action until the Sooners’ Cotton Bowl win over Florida.

Stogner was a popular target of quarterback Spencer Rattler for most of the season and finished as the Sooners’ third leading receiver despite missing three games. He caught 26 passes last season for 422 yards and three touchdowns. His best outing was a six-catch performance for 56 yards and a touchdown in the annual rivalry game with Texas.

The 6-foot, 6-inch tight end is back, healthy and ready to go in 2021, head coach Lincoln Riley said in a press conference at the start of fall training camp. The Sooners are counting on Stogner to be a big contributor again in 2021.
