Championship mentality

The first thing to know about being a champion is to act and think like a champion, and that is something that is deeply engrained in the Oklahoma DNA.

The Sooners have won six consecutive Big 12 championships and 14 in the 25-year history of the Big 12 Conference. Oklahoma has won more conference championships (50) than any team in college football history.

Oklahoma football has produced 40 10-win seasons, the most in college football, and the Sooners’ 673 victories since the end of World War II are more than any other other school and their .769 winning percentage over that span is No. 1 among Power Five teams.

The Sooners have a long and storied history of winning. It’s a program with a rich and proud tradition, and the OU faithful are excited and hopeful that this could be year Oklahoma brings that elusive eighth national championship trophy home to roost.
