No. 3-ranked Oklahoma led unranked Kansas State 35-14 with a little under three minutes remaining in the third quarter. The Wildcats, who were in their second season under head coach Chris Klieman, scored 24 unanswered points, 17 of those in the final quarter, to upset the Sooners in easily the poorest OU defensive performance of the 2020 season. That Same K-State team had lost its season opener to Arkansas State the week before.
