4. Trent Williams, San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle

Trent Williams saw a new change of scenery in 2020 after playing for Washington since the beginning of his career in 2010. He also was given the task of replacing 49ers legend Joe Staley, which is a tough act to follow

The former Oklahoma All-American did all of this and then some for San Francisco in 2021. Although it did not show in the win column, his impact was clearly visible throughout the season.

Based on Pro Football Focus rankings, Williams was the 11th best performing player in all of the NFL, seeing how big the holes were in the run game and how many defenders he ran over this past season made this not a surprising ranking at all.

Williams kept the pocket clean, giving up just 19 total quarterback pressures all season, had the 49ers stayed healthy this could have shown up more in terms of wins and more people would have talked about him, but next season could change this depending on where he ends up.

Williams has a great chance to find a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after his NFL career is all said and done. The eight-time Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro selection in 2015 has a solid resume at the age of 32 with a few good years left in him.

With at least three more years of production like 2020, Williams will end up joining the Hall of Fame, most likely after his good friend Adrian Peterson, after they both decide to hang up the cleats.

Williams is a star in the NFL and deserves more praise after yet another strong season and after adapting to a new environment this past year. Seeing his continued success is a great model to look up to for lineman at Oklahoma, and Creed Humphrey and Adrian Ealy will look to replicate that success as he moves to the next level.
