Oklahoma basketball: Missed Bedlam game scheduled for Feb. 25
By Chip Rouse
The Oklahoma basketball game with Oklahoma State that was postponed last weekend has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25.
The first round in this season’s Bedlam basketball series, originally scheduled for last weekend in Stillwater, was postponed because of COVID-19 issues within the Oklahoma State program.
The week of Feb. 22 is set up as the final week of the regular-season. That will be a very active week this season for several Big 12 teams because of games being rescheduled due to COVID-related postponements.
The Big 12 has left an open week between the scheduled final week of the regular season and the Big 12 Tournament to accommodate make-up games.
The week of Feb. 22 will be like an NBA schedule for the Sooners. They will play three times that week. On Feb. 23, Oklahoma will play at Kansas State. Two days later is the make-up game with OSU in Stillwater, and two days after that the Cowboys and Sooners will engage in a rematch in Norman.
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have played each other 240 times in basketball dating back to the first meeting in 1908. The Sooners lead the all-time series 140-100, but both teams have held serve the majority of the time on their home court.
The Sooners are 87-27 against their in-state rivals when the game is played in Norman. The reverse is true when the venue switches to Stillwater, where the Cowboys have a record of 65-46 over the Sooners.
This time will mark the first time in history that back-to-back Bedlam games will close out the conference regular season.
