Oklahoma basketball Bedlam game with Oklahoma State postponed

Saturday’s scheduled Oklahoma basketball game with Oklahoma State on Saturday has been postponed.
The Big 12 made the announcement on Friday afternoon, stating that the action was in accordance with the men’s basketball interruption guidelines previously established by the conference. Other follow-up news reports indicated that the reason is because of COVID-19 issues in the Oklahoma State program.
Round 1 of the 2021 Bedlam basketball series was set to be played Saturday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater. The Big 12 indicated that it would work with both institutions on a later date for the game.
Oklahoma (7-4, 3-3) is having COVID issues of its own. Senior forward Brady Manek and sophomore forward Jalen Hill have missed two games because of COVID protocols, and Manek was not expected to be available for the Oklahoma State game.
Both teams are coming off big wins earlier this week. The Sooners throttled TCU 82-46 at Lloyd Noble Center on Tuesday, while the Cowboys defeated 6th-ranked Kansas, closing out the game on an 8-0 run in a 75-70 win.
Saturday’s game with Oklahoma State was to be the 241 edition of the Bedlam basketball series. The Sooners hold a 140-100 record all-time against their in-state rivals, but the Cowboys have won the last three games played in Stillwater. The two teams have split their last 10 games.
The Sooners will next play at home on Tuesday against Kansas State (5:30 p.m. CT) with a chance to go above .500 in Big 12 play. They remain at home the entire week, hosting Kansas on Saturday. OU and Kansas played last weekend in Lawrence, with the Jayhawks pulling out a four-point win in a surprisingly close game.
