It was like deja vu all over again. Another conference championship game and another Oklahoma football championship celebration.

The Sooners have now won six consecutive conference titles in football, 14 in the 25-year history of the Big 12 and 50 overall, more than any other team in college football history.

The 27-21 victory over Iowa State gives Oklahoma a 3-1 all-time record in rematch games against a team the Sooners had lost to earlier in the same season, and on two of those occasions, including on Saturday, it resulted in a Big 12 championship

Here are a dozen notable numbers that tell the story of the 2020 Big 12 Championship game.

3 — The Sooner defense recorded three interceptions and three quarterback sacks against Iowa State on Saturday. During the current seven-game winning streak, Oklahoma has posted 30 sacks and 59 tackles for loss. The three interceptions were the most by the Sooners in any game this season.

3 — OU defensive back Tre Brown has delivered a game-changing play in each of the last three Oklahoma championship game appearances. He tacked Texas QB Sam Ehlinger in the end zone for a safety with OU leading by just three points late in the fourth quarter in the 2018 conference championship game. Last season, he had a touch-down saving tackle in the Sooners’ win over Baylor, and on Saturday it was Brown’s interception deep in OU territory with time running down and the Sooners’ leading by just six points to seal the victory.

5 — In one six-possession span in the second half, the Oklahoma offense went three-and-out five times.

5.4 — Yards -per-carry average by OU running back Rhamondre Stevenson who gained 97 yards on the ground, almost 20 yards more that Big 12 rushing leader Breece Hall of Iowa State and on five rushing attempts.

8Marvin Mims’ 45-yard touchdown catch in the Big 12 Championship gives him eight for the season, a new Oklahoma freshman record. The previous record was seven, set by both CeeDee Lamb and Mark Andrews.

9.1 — Oklahoma’s third-down conversion percentage in the championship game.

10 — Plays by Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship that were for at least 15 yards.

12 — Oklahoma has played in 12 of the 19 Big 12 Championship games and has an 11-1 record in those games.

43.0 — Kickoff return average by the Sooners’ Tre Brown, who returned two kicks, each for 43 yards.

54Gabe Brkic’s 54-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, the Sooners’ only score in the second half, was the longest of his career.

77 — Wins by Oklahoma in 86 total games with Iowa State, a series that dates back to 1928.

272 — Passing yards by OU quarterback Spencer Rattler in Saturday’s Big 12 Championship. Rattler, named the Most Outstanding Player in the game has passed for at least 200 yards in nine of the Sooners’ 10-games this season.
