Coaching: C+

Admittedly, this has been a difficult year with spring practice being cancelled because of the COVID pandemic and all the practice time limitations leading up to the season because of coronavirus concerns. And with a lot of young and inexperienced players on the 2020 OU roster, it has made the coaching effort more challenging than it would be in normal years.

The Sooners pattern of second-half collapses that has been readily apparent in three of OU’s five games is probably the result of several contributing factors, but coaching decisions are clearly one of the reasons.

Lincoln Riley has admitted as much when talking with reporters. After both losses, he was straightforward in acknowledging that he and his staff needed to do a better job of coaching

The Sooners have prepared and played better in their last two outings, which is why this grade is not worse than it is.
