The Big Ten is back in and Oklahoma football is back at No. 3 for the second straight week in both major college football polls.

The top three teams in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll remained unchanged with Clemson and Alabama sitting ahead of the Sooners.

Big Ten teams are included in the Coaches Poll after the conference announced last week that it was reversing its earlier decision not to play this fall and will kickoff the season on Oct. 24, but Big Ten teams are not included in this week’s Associated Press Poll.

ESPN reported on Friday that the Pac-12 CEO Group will vote on a plan later this week to start its football season sometime prior to Jan. 1. On Wednesday last week the governors of Oregon and California said there would be no restrictions at the state level that would prevent the Pac-12 from having a season.

Two other Big 12 teams are ranked among the top 25. Texas moved up one spot in the AP Poll,  tied for No. 8 with Auburn, but dropped down by one in the Coaches Poll, to No. 9. Oklahoma State’s narrow season-opening win over Tulsa cost them four spots in the AP Top 25, at No. 15. and six spots in the Coaches Poll, down to No. 18.

Three other Big 12 teams — Baylor, TCU and West Virginia — received votes in both polls

Ohio State is the highest ranked Big Ten team, sitting 10th in the Coaches Poll.

Six teams from the Southeastern Conference are ranked in the Associated Press top 10.

Nine teams ranked in this week’s AP Poll and 13 in the Coaches Poll have yet to play a game.
