6. Winning the Heisman Trophy

Caleb Williams has expressed that his goal is to be the best quarterback in college football, and that generally means winning the Heisman Trophy. Again, let’s check the record. In the last three years, two Oklahoma quarterbacks have won the Heisman and a third was voted runner-up. Seven OU players have won the Heisman, four of which have come in the last 16 years.

Even this season, Spencer Rattler, who is expected to be the OU starting quarterback and has thrown just 11 collegiate passes, is on some watch lists as a preseason Heisman candidate. That’s a reflection of what the Sooner quarterbacks have been able to do in Lincoln Riley’s offensive system.
