No. 4 2004 Oklahoma vs. No. 5 2003 Oklahoma

Jason White quarterbacked both sides in this matchup and was guaranteed to move on to the semifinal round to face Baker Mayfield and the 2015 Sooner team, which upset the top-seeded 2000 Oklahoma team in impressive fashion. The question was: Which Sooner team would White be quarterbacking in the next round.

The 2004 Sooners struck first blood, scoring on a 40-yard touchdown run by Adrian Peterson four minutes into the game. That was short-lived, however. A one-yard touchdown run by Renaldo Works and a 46-yard Trey DiCarlo field goal gave the 2003 Sooners a 9-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

That was the last time the 2003 Sooners would lead in the game, however. Seventeen second-quarter points gave the 2004 Sooners a 24-12 lead at the break, and they added on a pair of touchdowns in the second half, doubling the score on the way to a 38-19 victory.

White completed 27 of 35 passes for 344 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Peterson rushed for a game-high 162 yards, including three touchdowns, to lead the 2004 Sooner squad. Mark Bradley caught three passes for 119 yards, and Mark Clayton was on the receiving end of two touchdown passes from White

White was 19 of 29 for 270 yards and no touchdowns for the 2003 Sooners, and Works gained 63 yards on the ground along with a couple of touchdowns.

The 2004 Sooners were successful on nine of 12 third-down conversions.
