The defense carried the Sooners to a win

Yes, Oklahoma gave up 24 points to TCU, but seven of those came on a pick-six in the second half.

Max Duggan completed just 7-of-21 passes for 65 yards. The best pass defensive performance for a Sooner team in the Riley era. Duggan was able to pick up 92 yards on the ground, but holding the Horned Frogs to just 139 yards on 24 carries was a difference-maker. They also only allowed Jalen Reagor to catch one pass for nine yards.

In the second half after Hurts put the team in a bad position with a turnover, it was Brenden Radley-Hiles’ interception that ended a potential go-ahead TCU drive.

Kenneth Murray totaled nine tackles, 2.5 for loss and half a sack. Nik Bonitto continued to look like a force dropping back to defend the pass, getting himself another pass breakup.

The Sooner defense should get another good draw next week with Spencer Sanders out for Bedlam. They have a chance to finish extremely strong after struggling in back-to-back games against Kansas State and Iowa State earlier this year.
