Jalen Hurts didn’t look sharp throwing the ball

Hurts probably played his worst game of the year from a passing standpoint. He threw a pick-six in the end zone, overthrew a pair of wide-open touchdown passes and fumbled another time in the red zone to cost Oklahoma points. Yes, he rand for 173 yards and two touchdowns, but his 145 yards through the air is the worst output for any quarterback during the Riley era at Oklahoma.

It’s the lowest single-game total for a Sooner quarterback since Cody Thomas threw for less than 100 in a win over Kansas in 2014. For reference, that was also the day Samaje Perine broke the single-game rushing record.

Hurts completed just 11 of 21 passes as TCU’s talented secondary kept him in check for much of the day. It will be interesting to see how the senior responds in his final game of the year on the road for Bedlam.
