Oklahoma football held on for a 28-24 victory over TCU. Here are three takeways from a perilous victory.

The Sooners still haven’t played a complete game

One thing that is clear after watching this Sooner team for the last three weeks, they haven’t come anywhere near their ceiling yet.

The Sooners have looked at times like one of the best teams in the country, like when they went up 21-0 against TCU. Or when they stormed back from 28-3 down to beat Baylor. Or when they jumped all over Iowa State 35-14.

Other times they have looked downright bad. Like when they let TCU outscore them 24-7. Or when they let Baylor jump out to a 25-point lead. Or when they allowed the Cyclones to storm back to attempt a game-winning two-point conversion.

With only one regular-season game left the Sooners have yet to establish themselves as a dominant team. Can Oklahoma put it all together and take over a full game the way they are clearly capable of doing or will this team be considered an underachiever when it’s all said and done?
