Kansas State at Texas 2:30 p.m.

Team to root for: Kansas State. While rooting for next week’s opponent in Baylor might leave some Sooner fans conflicted. This one should come as second nature. What OU die-hard worth his salt doesn’t enjoy sitting down and rooting against Texas?

The Wildcats came in at No. 16 in the first College Football Playoff rankings and it’s clear the committee respects the fact that Kansas State went on the road and beat an SEC team in Mississippi State in non-conference play (albeit a mediocre SEC team).

The Sooners may want to hold out hope for a rematch with Kansas State in the Big 12 title game. After all, it is an opportunity to avenge your only loss and show the committee how much you have grown since it happened. Even if that doesn’t happen Sooner fans want K-State to stay ranked all the way through for the inevitable “best loss” argument.
