The bottom line

Oklahoma is a 13-point favorite over Iowa State, according to The Action Network. The Sooners are anxious to get back into action and redeem themselves after falling from the unbeaten ranks two weeks ago against Kansas State and not looking very good doing it. It won’t be surprising to see some rustiness early on from the two-week OU layoff, but that should end quickly, and I would expect to see a much different Oklahoma team, on both sides of the ball, than the one that got its lunch handed to it at K-State.

The Sooners still have much to play for and virtually no margin for error if they wish to earn a bid to one of the New Year’s Six bowls. They also have a stellar record in the month of November. OU is 17-0 in November since 2014.

Iowa State has not allowed a team to score 30 points in a game this season. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has scored 34 or more points in 18 straight games, and that six times this season the Sooners have exceeded 44 points. Go with the team with the better offense.

The Sooners get back in the win column.
